A new vacancy now exists within the Public Policy and Vehicle Legislation department for an EU Government Affairs Manager.
PURPOSE OF POST:
To manage the activities of the SMMT in Brussels, growing SMMT’s presence and network with European institutions, UK representation, members states, sister associations, SMMT members and all relevant stakeholders.
- To deliver an impactful political engagement programme at EU level and support strategic planning at SMMT.
- To represent SMMT in relevant working groups and support SMMT colleagues in their EU engagement and regulatory lobbying activities.
- To monitor, influence and create opportunities for colleagues to deliver SMMT expertise and impact across all EU public policy and regulatory issues affecting the UK automotive industry.
- To support the development, coordination and communication of SMMT European policy positions, consultation responses and briefings on all automotive issues and SMMT business priorities.
- To brief SMMT colleagues and members on all EU dossiers, issues and processes of relevance.
